I’m not sure exactly what rationale is used by the suits at NBC to determine which clips from each weekend’s SNL to release as embeds, but I do know this: it could use some tweaking. Just a few weeks ago, SNL didn’t make Fart Face embeddable, so your U.G. had to take to the YouTubes to make sure people saw its brilliance. And now, the best skit from this weekend’s Paul Rudd hosted ep, the short film Clearing The Air, isn’t available online. I will put it up as soon as the vid finishes uploading to YT, but I couldn’t sleep on this news. Up! (see below)

So, as the title credit indicated, the creation was “A Movie By Fred, Bill and Noah.” Well, identifying “Fred” as Fred Armisen and “Bill” as Bill Hader was easy enough, but who was this mystery “Noah” character? Um, well …how to position this… it’s NOAH FREAKING BAUMBACH! Are you kidding me? Easily the greatest development in the history of developments!

As I was watching this for the second time on early Sunday morning —before learning of this new development, mind you— I was espousing on this skit’s utter brilliance to The Senator. Now I know why it struck such a chord in me. Anytime you mix Noah and off-kilter comedy, the results are always spectacularly insightful into the condition of the men of Generation X. SO BEST!!!

On a related note, I’m loving this formidable new short film pairing of Fred Armisen and Bill Hader. First “Wine and Cigarettes”, now “Nuh-nuh-nuh-no-no-no.” Amazing spice.

[Big ups to Every Person In New York for the confirmation on my hunch.]
